Water Soluble Oil Paints have improved heaps over the past 3-5 years.

Why? Mostly because the EU has rules & regulations about solvents in painting in regard to schools i.e. anything deemed "harmful" is banned from school usage. Therefore the manufacturers were forced to improve their products with a degree of urgency. The result is product worthy of trying if you are allergic to, or simply do not like, solvents etc.

Another alternate is to consider the M Graham Oil Paints which are blended to use Walnut Oil.
